Security and deposit before signing

The total of securities that cost the tenant money (cash deposit, bank guarantee, etc.) may not exceed the lower of: three months' rent, or one-third of the total rent for the whole lease.

The cap applies to securities that cost the tenant money. A plain security check, or a third-party guarantor's note that costs the tenant nothing, is not capped the same way.
